This paper is to discuss a debatable issue about the subculture that I belong to. In this paper I should clearly indicate my specific position about the issue. I also need to do some research by using the outside sources which include a scholarly source and a pop culture source; and show my understanding about these sources.

 

What prompts me to write about this subject is that I want people to really understand what esports is, because esports are always facing unequal bias for a long time. My main purpose of this paper is to reduce people’s prejudice against esports by discussing the development, rituals, and players of esports.

 

The potential audience for paper should be the people who have had prejudice against esport for a long time, especially the traditional esports fans who don’t think esport is a sport. They usually associate esports with traditional video games, and think the match of esports does not compete through the player’s physical activities. 

 

The medium I was using to communicate between me as a writer and the audience is to describe the relationship and comparison between esports and traditional sports. Esports is similar to the traditional sport. Physical activity is one of the most important parts of the esports as well because the esports requires hand-eye coordination and human-computer interaction, and good health conditions. Also the esports industry is developing in the same way as the traditional sports industry. In addition, the esports players also have many similarities compared to traditional esports players.
